Spur Improvements EA

Great Smoky Mountains National Park (the Park) announces the release and public comment period for the Spur Improvements Environmental Assessment (EA) in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act and National Historic Preservation Act. The public comment period for the EA will begin May 6, 2022 and conclude June 5, 2022. You are encouraged to review the EA provided in the link below and provide comments on the proposed action, alternatives, and impact analysis.

We invite the public to comment on this EA during the public review period through June 5, 2022. On the left column or below, click on "Comment Now" to open the comments field.

During this period, the Park will host a ZOOM virtual public meeting starting at 5:00 pm EDT on May 16. You are invited to attend this meeting to learn more and ask NPS representatives questions about the EA. Park staff will present an overview of the EA from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m EDT and will then be available to answer questions from the public until 6:00 p.m EDT.
