Dinosaur National Monument begins public scoping for Fire Management Plan update


Dinosaur, CO — Dinosaur National Monument is beginning a 14-day public scoping period to initiate an update of the park's Fire Management Plan (FMP) starting today, May 13.

An updated FMP is needed to ensure fire management within the monument is consistent with current conditions and the latest National Park Service (NPS) guidance, to provide for fire personnel and public safety, to protect park values and resources, and remain consistent with the park's resource management objectives.
