Public comment for Plant Gathering for Traditional Purposes draft EA.

The National Park Service (NPS) proposes to enter into an agreement with the five federally recognized Tribes who are traditionally associated with Yosemite National Park to approve the gathering of plants and plant parts at Yosemite National Park. This proposal is pursuant to 36 CFR 2.6, Gathering of Certain Plants or Plant Parts by Federally Recognized Indian Tribes for Traditional Purposes.

The environmental assessment was prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act. The public is encouraged to participate in the planning process by reviewing and providing comments on the environmental assessment.

The public comment period is open through September 27, 2025. The National Park Service prefers that you submit comments using the Comment Now button on this page. Comments may also be submitted by mail, postmarked by the last day of the public comment period, at the address provided below.
