Poplar Point Community Meeting for EIS Public Scoping

The National Park Service and the Washington, D.C. Deputy Mayor's Office for Planning and Economic Development are serving as joint-lead agencies in the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the redevelopment of the Poplar Point section of Anacostia Park. The purpose of this meeting is to obtain public input on the scope of issues to be addressed in the EIS and proposed relocation of certain National Park Service and U.S. Park Police facilities currently located on the site. This meeting will be the first of several meetings related to the EIS for Poplar Point and all future planning for the site.

The transfer of the Poplar Point section of Anacostia Park, and the subsequent development of the site, is pursuant to the Federal and District of Columbia Government Real Property Act of 2006.
