VVMC Section 106 Consultation Meeting (Monday March 5, 2012)


the National Park Service (NPS) and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund seek to establish a Visitor Center (the undertaking) on the approved site at Constitution Avenue, 23rd Street, Henry Bacon Drive, and Memorial Circle in northwest Washington, DC. This site was selected by National Park Service, Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, and approved by the Commission of Fine Arts and the National Capital Planning Commission in 2006.

As part of this planning effort, the NPS and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund will sponser a NHPA Section 106 consultation meeting for the proposed Vietnam Veterans Memorial Center on Monday, March 5, 2012, at 2:00 pm at the District of Columbia Office of Planning's conference room at 1100 4th Street, SW, Washington, DC 20024. The purpose of this meeting would be to provide a brief project overview, establish effects to historic properties, and identify mitigation measures.
