The NPS is currently looking at ways to improve the area of Anacostia Park north of the 11th Street Bridge and south of the CSX tracks. The NPS has developed preliminary management concepts that:
-Offer a range of ways to improve access from nearby neighborhoods and trails to the park
-Support current and future recreational and community use, park programming, and special events
-Address maintenance issues
-Adapt infrastructure to support current and future recreational uses
-Increase resiliency of facilities in areas of frequent flooding
 
Description:
The NPS will host a two-hour virtual public meeting, Wednesday, September 27 @ 6 pm to provide an overview of the benefits and trade-offs of major design elements considered and host a 1+ hour question and answer period. The meeting will be recorded and posted on the project website.

The NPS is committed to hearing from more voices in the community about what they love about Anacostia Park and want for the future of this culturally significant and beloved community space. Public participation is vital to the planning process. Public input will be heavily weighted in refining the concepts of the plan.
