Monocacy National Battlefield proposes to administratively close the unofficial shoulder pull-offs adjacent to MD 355 that currently creates hazardous traffic conditions for visitors accessing the Monocacy River and contribute to illegal dumping within park boundaries. This project will eliminate unsafe roadside parking areas located south of the Monocacy River Bridge and help deter littering and pollution.
