Remove apple tree in Lyon/Rosenwald backyard to enable truck access for removing other damaged trees
Lincoln Home National Historic Site » Remove apple tree in Lyon/Rosenwald backyard to enable truck access for removing other damaged trees
To enable the safe removal of a dying oak tree in the Lyon/Rosenwald backyard (see PEPC #137194), an apple tree located nearby has to be removed to allow the lift truck into the yard. The apple tree, planted in the mid-to-late 1990s, will be cut to the ground and the stump ground out to about 8" below surface. A new apple tree, probably a Honey Crisp or similar summer-bearing tree, will be planted nearby, in line with an existing apple tree, to meet the 2014 CLR policy to maintain existing lawn features.
